CGPSC Prelims Set for February 22: Strict Dress Code and “No-Shoe” Policy Enforced

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) is gearing up for the State Service Preliminary Examination-2025, scheduled for February 22, 2026. With exam centers established across all 33 districts of the state, the commission has issued a strict set of guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Candidates preparing for the big day need to pay close attention to the new rules, particularly regarding their attire. If you show up in dark-colored clothes or high heels, you may be denied entry.

The commission has enforced a specific dress code to prevent malpractice. Here is what candidates need to know:

• What to Wear: Candidates must wear light-colored clothes with half-sleeves. Simple pants or jeans are permitted.

• What is Banned: Dark colors are strictly prohibited. You cannot wear clothes that are black, dark blue, green, purple, maroon, or dark chocolate. Additionally, cargo pants and designer clothing are not allowed.

• Footwear: Leave your shoes and socks at home. Only slippers or sandals with thin soles are allowed. Footwear with thick soles, high heels, or shoes of any kind are banned.

• Jewelry: Ear jewelry is prohibited. However, married female candidates are permitted to wear a single mangalsutra and a nose pin.

Exam Schedule

The examination will be conducted in two shifts:

• First Shift (General Studies): 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

• Second Shift (Aptitude Test): 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Entry Rules and Security

Candidates are advised to reach their respective exam centers at least two hours before the scheduled time. The main gates will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam, after which no entry will be permitted.

To prevent cheating, jammers will be installed at centers, and candidates may be subjected to frisking. No one will be allowed to leave the exam hall until the shift ends, except in extreme medical emergencies under supervision.

What to Carry

• Admit Card: A printed copy is mandatory. (Admit cards will be available for download on www.psc.cg.gov.in 10 days before the exam).

• ID Proof: An original photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or PAN card). If the photo on the Admit Card is unclear, bring two passport-sized color photos.

• Stationery: Only Black or Blue ballpoint pens.

• Water: A transparent water bottle with no labels.

Banned Items

Electronic devices, including mobile phones, calculators, log tables, pagers, and all types of watches (smart or mechanical), are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
