NEW DELHI, Sept 2 — Plainclothes Delhi Police officers reportedly detained former Additional Director Ashish Joshi from Nehru Park today, hauling him away to an undisclosed location. The abrupt detention follows a highly explosive and now suspiciously deleted social media post regarding the recent police crackdown on student protesters at Jantar Mantar. Joshi didn’t just criticize the ground-level police action. He pointed directly at the very top of the national security apparatus.
He exposed an alleged high-level fracture inside the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to circulating reports, Joshi explicitly claimed on X that Union Home Minister Amit Shah actively favoured opening fire on the protesting students. The former bureaucrat alleged that the Home Secretary strongly disagreed with the lethal directive, exposing a severe rift over how to handle the democratic demonstrations. Shortly after the claim went live, the post was scrubbed from the platform. Eyewitness accounts suggest two unidentified men in civilian clothes then approached Joshi at the park and took him away under the pretext of “questioning.”
