With the April 24 deadline for B.Ed applications looming, thousands of teaching aspirants must navigate the state’s registration portal before the window locks them out.

RAIPUR, April 3 — Chhattisgarh has set a hard stop for its next generation of educators. The last date to submit online applications for the 2026 Pre B.Ed entrance exam is April 24.

For the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), the window shuts even earlier on April 13.

You don’t apply, you don’t write the exam. You don’t write the exam, you don’t teach in Chhattisgarh’s government or private schools. It’s that simple.

The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CG Vyapam) has activated the registration link on its official portal: vyapam.cgstate.gov.in. Given the historic server crashes that plague government websites in their final hours, waiting until the deadline is a gamble candidates shouldn’t take.

Here is exactly how you get your name into the system.

First, open the Vyapam portal and hit the “Online Applications” tab. Click on the link designated for the “Pre B.Ed. and Pre D.El.Ed. Entrance Exam 2026.”

If you haven’t applied for a state exam recently, you have to build a profile from scratch. Keep your phone close. The portal requires a valid mobile number to send an OTP, which locks in your registration ID. Don’t use a borrowed number — this will be your login credential until the admission process ends.

Next comes the digital paperwork. You need a color passport photograph and a clean scan of your signature. Both need to be in JPEG format. If your photo isn’t between 50KB and 100KB, the system throws an error. Signatures must sit strictly between 20KB and 40KB.

Once your profile is active, the actual form opens. You’ll choose your target course: B.Ed, D.El.Ed, or both.

Input your father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth. They must match your Class 10 board certificate to the letter. A single typo here will derail document verification months down the line. You’ll also declare your category — General, SC, ST, or OBC.

Are you a local resident? Say yes. The state government has entirely waived the examination fees for local domiciles. At the payment gateway, your total will drop to zero.

Finally, pick your examination center. Vyapam has set up testing sites across 33 district headquarters. Select the one closest to you, check the declaration box, and hit submit.

Save the confirmation PDF immediately. You’ll need the registration number printed on it to pull your admit card later.

But what happens if you realize you misspelled your mother’s name right after clicking submit?

Vyapam offers a brief lifeline. The correction window for D.El.Ed applicants runs from April 14 to April 16. B.Ed candidates can fix their errors between April 25 and April 27.

The exams themselves are locked in. D.El.Ed candidates sit for their test on June 4. The B.Ed exam follows on June 11.

If you miss the Vyapam deadlines entirely, Pandit Sundarlal Sharma (Open) University offers a distance education alternative. Their application portal remains open until June 12.

The state is gearing up to fill massive teaching vacancies. Securing a rank in these exams is the only way into the interview room. Get the form done.
