The School Education Department sets a September 30 deadline to clear pending pensions and introduces proactive administrative camps for seamless retirement transitions.

Raipur , September 30 – The Chhattisgarh Government’s School Education Department has issued a new directive to promptly resolve all pending pension-related cases by 30 September 2026 to honour and support its retiring teachers. This proactive plan is meant to make the transition into retirement for teachers and state workers as smooth as possible and give them the financial freedom they deserve.
All pension files have been backlogged, and District Education Officers have been given official instructions to clear each one of these pension files individually. The department is taking a very proactive stance to eliminate future delays, and will need to have service books and passbooks completed and updated well before a staff member reaches their retirement age by March 2027.
In an effort to further simplify this necessary service, the Treasury and Accounts Department will pre-verify pay fixes and ensure that retirement dues are being processed without unnecessary administrative delays. To ensure accessibility, the department has also organised specific block level camps from April 1 to April 30 each year, where employees can easily update their service easily within a conducive environment.
Even the most complicated cases are being addressed. Officials are working actively with the Court Cell in Bilaspur to speed up the process, for pension that have been wrapped up in long-going lawsuits. In the future, the government has committed to a frictionless system whereif employees left their job after October 2026 will receive their Pension Payment Order (PPOs) and all financial benefits they are entitled to in their month of retirement. This policy, which strives to spare senior citizens the daunting task of having to make follow-up visits to government offices, is an example of the government’s dedication to good governance and employee’s welfare.
