Leading from the Ground: IAS Taran Prakash Sinha Logs Worker Attendance on NMMS App During Bemetara VB-G RAM G Inspection – RootsAlert Ground Report

From interacting with 138 labourers at a ‘Dhar-Apar’ site to launching post-monsoon groundwater tracking via the Jaldoot App, the Commissioner directed officials to maximize rural employment and ensure top-quality, time-bound infrastructure works.

RAIPUR, October 26, 2026: Commissioner of the Viksit Bharat-G RAM G (VB-G RAM G) scheme and Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, Shri Taran Prakash Sinha, conducted an intensive field inspection across various Gram Panchayats in Bemetara district on Sunday. Reviewing ongoing initiatives related to rural employment, water conservation, infrastructure development, and livelihood enhancement, Shri Sinha directed officials to provide maximum employment in line with the demand of rural families and to complete all sanctioned works with high quality within the stipulated timeframe.

During the visit, Commissioner Sinha inspected river-bank water conservation and trench construction works operating under the ‘Dhar-Apar’ campaign. Reaching out directly to the 138 labourers deployed at the worksite, he held an engaging dialogue with them and shared vital information regarding the provisions of the scheme and timely wage payments. Sending a strong message on ensuring transparency in grassroots operations, the Commissioner personally recorded the attendance of the workers through the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS) app.

Placing special emphasis on rural infrastructure and livelihood enhancement, Commissioner Sinha inspected an under-construction Anganwadi building in Gram Panchayat Tala and a school toilet construction project in Gram Panchayat Charbhatha, instructing officials to complete them on priority with uncompromising quality. At a ‘Chaupal’ organized in Gram Panchayat Babamohtra, he held direct discussions with villagers, Self-Help Group (SHG) ‘Didis’, and labourers. The dialogue focused on employment-oriented and livelihood-enhancing works tailored to local needs, where he directed officials to encourage the creation of useful and durable community assets through active public participation.

In Gram Panchayat Jewra (N), Shri Sinha reviewed the fruit-bearing plantation work spanning 26 acres and commended the Gram Panchayat’s dedicated efforts. He noted that such initiatives not only contribute significantly to environmental conservation but also prove instrumental in expanding future livelihood opportunities for rural communities.

Further strengthening water conservation efforts, Commissioner Sinha inaugurated the post-monsoon well water level measurement drive using the Jaldoot App in Gram Panchayat Kathiya. Leading by example, he personally took the water level reading of a well and uploaded the data onto the app. This initiative will aid in accurately assessing the post-monsoon groundwater situation and formulating effective action plans for water conservation.

Following the field inspection, Commissioner Sinha chaired a review meeting at the Bemetara Circuit House with officers and employees of the Zila Panchayat and all Janpad Panchayats of the district. Prioritizing employment generation, he issued strict instructions to connect the maximum number of rural families with the scheme, ensure timely payment of wages, and conduct regular monitoring of construction activities. He placed special emphasis on maintaining quality, transparency, and time-bound execution across all works.

During the inspection and review meeting, the state-level team, Zila Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Smt. Premlata Padmakar, Executive Engineer of Rural Engineering Service (RES), Assistant Project Officer, CEOs of Janpad Panchayats, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Programme Officers, and other officers and staff from concerned departments remained present.
